Chelsea underwent the 2014/15 season under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho. The club nicknamed the Blues has achieved a lot of success this season.
With Mourinho, Chelsea won the Premier League title. It was the fourth Premier League title won by the Blues.
In the League Cup, Chelsea was also able to become champions. John Terry and colleagues managed to beat Tottenham at Wembley.
In the 2014/2015 season, Mourinho also brought in a number of new players to Chelsea. Who are they and what is their fate with the Blues?
Cesc Fabregas was brought in from Barcelona. Chelsea paid 33 million euros to return the Spanish midfielder to the Premier League.
Chelsea was not in vain to recruit Fabregas. The former Arsenal player became a key player for the Blues under Jose Mourinho.
Fabregas spent four and a half years at Stamford Bridge. He won the Premier League title with the Blues before continuing his career with AS Monaco.
Looking impressive with Atletico Madrid, Diego Costa was brought to Chelsea. The Blues redeemed it from Atletico Madrid with a dowry of 38 million euros.
After coming to Stamford Bridge, Costa immediately became a mainstay on the front lines of Chelsea. He helped the Blues to the Premier League title in the 2014/2015 and 2016/2017 seasons.
Costa scored 58 goals in 120 appearances for Chelsea. He left the Blues in January 2018 by returning to Atletico Madrid.
Diego Costa is not the only player Chelsea has signed from Atletico Madrid. The Blues also managed to bring Filipe Luis.
Bought for 20 million euros, Luis only lasted one year at Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian defender has struggled to get a regular place in Chelsea’s main squad.
Failing to shine with Chelsea, Luis returned to Atletico the following season. He only made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Blues.
Chelsea welcomed back Didier Drogba in the summer of 2014. The Ivory Coast striker returned to Stamford Bridge after his contract was no longer extended by Galatasaray.
Unlike in his first period, this time Drogba is no longer the main choice in Chelsea’s front line. The player from the Ivory Coast is just a cover for Diego Costa.
Drogba only scored seven goals for Chelsea. He then left Chelsea and continued his career in MLS with the Montreal Impact.
Chelsea get Loic Remy from QPR. He joined before the close of the transfer market because the Blues lost Fernando Torres.
But Remy could never be the first choice at Stamford Bridge. The French striker had to surrender to Diego Costa.
Remy moved to Crystal Palace on loan in the 2016/2017 season. He then joined Las Palmas on a free transfer the following season.
Juan Cuadrado joined Chelsea on 2 February 2015 from Fiorentina. The Colombian player was transported from Fiorentina for a fee of 31 million euros.
However, Cuadrado struggled to get regular playing opportunities after coming to Chelsea. Cuadrado has only played in 15 games for the Blues.
Chelsea finally loaned Cuadrado to Juventus in the summer of 2015. The Bianconeri then decided to redeem the player on a permanent basis.
