United States and Canada for Oscar nominees.
Death On The Nile Is Number One At The Box Office This Weekend
Even with the turmoil produced by the LVI edition of the Super Bowl, it has not prevented Death on the Nile – 78% from achieving a moderate box office this weekend, moving away from the resounding failure that was so feared but that is completely overcome. Through The Hollywood Reporter it is reported that the mystery tape has established itself for the last three days as a common preference among moviegoers, even surpassing Marry Me – 65%, the long-awaited Jennifer Lopez and Maluma tape .
Directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Gal Gadot, Death on the Nile is the film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name. The story returns us to Hercule Poirot, whose glamorous vacation on a Nile steamboat turns into a new murder case for him to solve. The film hit theaters this February 10 with some delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the personal scandals of several of its stars. But things are not as catastrophic as they might have imagined.
Death on the Nile has collected US $12.8 million during its first weekend at the local box office (United States), a number that is not great but not terrible either. The film arrives at the box office in a very difficult time for the Hollywood industry, in the midst of the days that precede the Super Bowl and that people prefer to spend staying at home; but it seems that the names of Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer continue to be of great weight in the world of entertainment despite the circumstances and have been enough to attract many viewers to movie theaters.

Not even Marry Me , Jennifer Lopez ‘s comedy that also hit theaters these days, was able to achieve a collection above Death on the Nile ; her US$8 million at the local level leaves her a little poorly positioned against the competition. The Hollywood Reporter even highlights the type of public that consumed Gal Gadot ‘s film this weekend, revealing that 77% of ticket buyers were over 25 years old, of this compendium 47% were over 35 and 28% over 45 years. Will you manage to get a little more income during the following days?
One of Gal Gadot ‘s next films is Wonder Woman 3 , a project for which there are almost no details, but little by little it is progressing in its development. The actress told Variety last year that she wants a third movie to give Diana some nice closure. This makes us think that Wonder Woman 3 could be the last time we see Gal.wearing his armor and his bow, something that surely fills fans with sadness. Patty Jenkins revealed to MTV News in 2020 that she already had the story of the film in mind at that time, however, the director wants to wait a while to make it and release it when the pandemic is well controlled. It is obvious that she wants to avoid the failure experienced with Wonder Woman 1984 – 76%.
Another of Gal Gadot future films is Cleopatra , an adaptation of the life of the famous ruler of Ancient Egypt. The role has earned the Israeli star numerous criticisms for not having the ancestry of the monarch, however, the project is still underway and looks to be spectacular. At the moment there is no release date.
