Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai, the anime that aired in the fall of 2014 is an anime with the daily comedy genre (Slice of Life) wrapped in several elements such as drama and the supernatural, as well as a harem.

Title : Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai
Release Date : 9 October 2014
Episodes : 12
Duration : 23 Minutes per Eps
Genre : Harem, Romance, School
Story Source: Visual Novel
Studio : Hoods Entertainment

The story is set at Shiomi Academy, a very large and prestigious school, with a Daitoshokan (literally, “big library”) that can rival Japan’s national library. As a member of the library club, Kyoutarou Kakei visits the Daitoshokan to relax reading a book. He then meets a second year girl named Tsugumi Shirasaki. Through the efforts of the so-called “Shepherd” who can fulfill everyone’s desires. Finally, more girls are joining the club thanks to “Shepherd.”

It starts with a young man named Kyoutarou Kakei the main character who can see the future, and his vision is a bad thing that will happen to a woman. with no other choice, he saved the girl. However, because of his actions, there was a misunderstanding. There’s nothing special about this anime, only the daily comedy can be enjoyed. Then slowly came the drama and some other supernatural things, in my opinion in the story Daitoshokan itself emphasizes the element of fantasy (supernatural) on the shepherd. Shepherds here are people who can read books containing the future of others.

Kakei is a member of the library extracurricular, and I don’t know what happened suddenly his extracurricular members increased. The characters who finally officially became part of the extracurricular activities were Kyoutarou Kakei, Senri Misono, Tamamo Sakuraba, Tsugumi Shirasaki, Kana Suzuki, Ikkei Takamine, and the cat Gizaemon. There is also a character who is not a member of the library extracurricular but is often highlighted, namely Nagi Kodachi. If you pay attention, the characters focus on Kakei and Kodachi, the others are just supporting characters. Character recognition is not very helpful either, the flashbacks are monotonous and there are no special things that the supporting characters have.

I don’t know, the art of drawing is ordinary. There’s nothing special, it’s just that I like the comedy scenes, some scenes change the character to chibi or just the face shape. Because there is an element of fantasy-supernatural, I hope those of you who want to watch it don’t think about the effects of images when there are supernatural scenes. Because there will be no lightning, fire, or the like coming out.

There’s nothing special about the opening or ending songs, it’s just that I like the illustrations in the ending songs. It is depicted with Ms. Shirasaki sitting at a table where there is a book like a photo album, but the photo is a moving image. (video).

Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai : 7.2 /10

For some categories such as the daily comedy section, I quite enjoyed it, there were even some scenes that made me feel embarrassed (started to laugh) because of the misunderstanding of a character.
