Comparing Man City and Liverpool’s Remaining Schedule in the Premier League This Season: The Reds’ Road is More Steep and Horror

Sports

The competition for the 2021/2022 Premier League title will still be fierce. Especially between Manchester City and Liverpool, two of the top and most favored teams.

Manchester City still leads the standings with 69 points from 28 matches. Liverpool stuck behind him and are only three points adrift after winning over host Brighton 2-0 in the last match, Saturday (12/3/2022)

With ten matches remaining, the competition for the title will be fierce until the last week. Mathematically both teams can overtake each other to be the best.

Speaking of the remaining schedule, it seems that Man City has a bit more advantage with relatively easier opponents, than the potential opponents that Liverpool have to face.

Pep Guardiola’s troops only have the toughest opponent, Liverpool , as well as being the most serious challenger in the championship competition. The two teams will clash in early April.

Lighter

Manchester City have games left with opponents they should be able to beat on paper, except for Liverpool. Opponents who have a fairly heavy category will be faced by The Citizen (Man City’s nickname) only to be felt in May 2022.

The Magpies Newcastle are incarnating as a sultan team and making a major overhaul in order to survive in the Premier League. Sure enough, they immediately rose in the second half of this season and are now away from the relegation hole.

Then there’s West Ham which they have to challenge in mid-May. A match that will not be easy because City visit the headquarters of The Hammers who are eyeing a Champions League ticket.

Then the last tough opponent was Aston Villa in the final match of the season on May 22, 2022. The Villans are in good form after the arrival of coach Steven Gerrard and new player Phillipe Coutinho.

But on paper, Man City will not encounter many difficulties because they play in front of their own supporters to burn enthusiasm in the race for the championship trophy this season.

Many Obstacles

Liverpool’s consistency and strength will be tested in the last three months leading up to the end of the 2021/2022 season. Not only opportunities in the Premier League, but also the FA Cup and Champions League that can still be pursued.

The closest horror opponent Liverpool will face is hosts Arsenal in mid-March. It is not an easy match for Liverpool because Arsenal are also struggling to get a ticket to qualify for the Champions League.

Shifting to April 2022, Liverpool has been waiting for its closest rival in the title race, Man City. The Reds must travel to the Etihad Stadium to catch up with the value of the defending champions.

Then at the end of April, Liverpool had to play a sweaty match titled the Merseyside Derby or a city team against Everton. Although Liverpool often win, Everton can be a stumbling block.

Tottenham Hotspur will be the next opponent to be a crucial match towards the end of the English Premier League this season. It will also determine whether the Reds will be able to catch Man City for the title at the end of the season.

Liverpool are also waiting for the official schedule for the status of the match against arch-rivals, Manchester United. The two teams are scheduled to clash in the 30th Premier League match, next March. However, the duel had to be postponed due to Liverpool’s qualification in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
