Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is on high alert after seeing Chelsea win 6-0 over Southampton in the Premier League.
Real Madrid will host Chelsea in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals of the Champions League. The duel will be held on Wednesday (13/4/2022) early morning WIB.
Los Blancos bagged a 3-1 win in the first leg. In other words, Real Madrid has already set one foot in the semifinals of the Champions League.
This condition certainly benefits Real Madrid, but Carlo Ancelotti does not want to be complacent.
Ancelotti reminded his squad to stay focused. Moreover, Chelsea just won 6-0 over Southampton in the Premier League event on Saturday (9/4) night WIB.
“It’s going to be a tough game, we have to prepare for it as if we didn’t have that advantage,” Ancelotti said as reported by Soccer News.
“Today, [Chelsea] won by a lot of goals. We have to be very focused.”
Real Madrid itself just won 2-0 over Getafe, Sunday (10/4) early morning WIB. Los Blancos now lead at the top of the La Liga standings with a 12-point advantage.
Ancelotti is satisfied with his team’s performance. However, the Italian coach insists that the title race is not over.
“We are closer [to the title],” he continued.
“It’s a good journey but it’s not over yet, we have to keep fighting. We have two away games now against Sevilla and Osasuna.”
