Chelsea Break Bad Trends in Premier League, Graham Potter Happy Supporters Smile Again
Chelsea manager, Graham Potter started to smile a little. His team managed to taste victory after a bad trend approached and made his position threatened.
Entertaining Leeds United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League 2022/2023 continuation on Saturday (4/3/2023) evening WIB, Chelsea won hard, 1-0. The only goal was scored by defender Wesley Fofana in the 53rd minute.
This result made Chelsea break the trend without a win which lasted as many as six matches. To note, in the last six matches, the Blues drew three times and lost three times.
Graham Potter is now happy to see all the players and especially the fans who are starting to smile again thanks to Chelsea’s win last night.
Successful Rise
Speaking after the match, Graham Potter was pleased to have rewarded the fans with a win after a series of minor results.
He admitted that the players were nervous about the match against Leeds because the team was required to secure three important points. The victory is also a valuable capital to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
“We are happy with the win, that’s for sure, because we had a difficult period. “Players and fans have suffered for the results of some of our matches, so we are very happy with this victory,” Potter said as quoted from the official Chelsea website.
Looks Nice
Graham Potter praised the performance of his men which he judged to appear slick. Even though they were only able to win 1-0 over Leeds, Potter said the players’ sense of responsibility was seen in the high intensity of the game to win.
“In the end it’s very good for the players to keep a clean sheet, get the win and have confidence again. It’s very positive,” said Potter.
Focus for the Next Game
The former captain of the Brighton team added that the victory over Leeds does not need to be overly celebrated because Chelsea’s journey for the rest of the season is still long. He believes the bad period has just ended and continues to crawl into a much better position.
“It’s been a tough period for all of us but it’s great to come home with a win and now we have to prepare for a very exciting game on Tuesday night. We will try again and win it, “said Graham Potter.
