2022 is arguably Ariana DeBose’s year to shine! Thanks to her appearance in West Side Story (2021), DeBose managed to become the “Best Supporting Actress” Oscar 2022. An interesting fact, this is the first Oscar that DeBose has received in her entire career as an actress which began in 2011.
Before getting her first Oscar, DeBose first received the “Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture” Golden Globe 2022 award in January. Then, DeBose also received the same award at the 2022 BAFTA and 2022 SAG Awards. Cool again, West Side Story is DeBose’s fifth film in his career.
Born on January 25, 1991, DeBose started her career in the entertainment industry by participating in a dance competition at So You Think You Can Dance. Then, he expanded his career in the theater world by starring in shows called Hairspray, Bring It On, and Company all at once during 2011.
During 2011–2018, DeBose continued to perform in various theaters and several serial titles. Seven years after debuting as an actress, DeBose finally landed a role in her first film, Seaside (2018). Then in 2020, DeBose became one of the players in the musical Hamilton (2020) despite getting a small role in the film.
Still in 2020, DeBose is also starring in the Netflix musical The Prom (2020). In this film, DeBose competes acting with various well-known actors, including Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman. A year later, DeBose appeared in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, which became the turning point of his career.
