Anthony Daniels Returns to Play C-3PO in Star Wars: A Droid Story

Actor Anthony Daniels has announced his return to Star Wars as fans’ favorite droid, C-3PO. The actor’s Instagram upload became the official announcement of Anthony Daniels’ return to this universe. As is known, he is currently working on the Star Wars: A Droid Story project for Disney+.

Anthony Daniels has played in Star Wars for 45 years as C-3PO. He has appeared in almost every live action version of the sci-fi franchise. Star Wars: A Droid Story now adds to the long list of films he has played in this universe.

The Star Wars: A Droid Story project was announced by Lucasfilm in late 2020. The story will center on C-3PO’s adventures with R2-D2. Unfortunately, very little information about this project has been leaked, except for the participation of Anthony Daniels.

“Lucasfilm will continue to develop stories, the friction between animation and visual effects providing new opportunities to be explored. Lucasfilm Animation will work closely with Lucasfilm’s visual effects team, Industrial Light & Magic, to develop a special Star Wars adventure for Disney+, A Droid Story. This epic journey will introduce us to a new hero escorted by two legends R2-D2 and C-3PO,” said Kathleen Kennedy of Lucasfilm in a statement.

C-3PO’s character is so identical to actor Anthony Daniels that it’s hard to imagine this project without him. It hasn’t been announced when the Disney+ project will be available on the platform but Star Wars fans, like Anthony Daniels, are excited.

“Finally, a new uniform, one that fits!” he wrote in the caption of the photo on Instagram.

Anthony Daniels is currently working on the project at Ealing Studios in West London. This can be seen from the location tag written in the same upload.
