If you are one of those who saves your lunch to eat it later as ‘reheated’, then you will have used lunch boxes often. Given this, the question arises: Should you use a glass or plastic container? Use a glass or plastic container?

In addition to being more presentable in offices or group lunches among colleagues, glass jars are very convenient for people who care about their health: they better withstand temperatures, are easy to clean and their material does not contaminate the food inside; among more details to consider:

  • Glass jars are toxicsince borosilicate glass is used in its manufacture (the good quality ones)
  • They can withstand temperatures above 300ºC and below -40ºC.
  • They do not stain like plastic containers: Leaves no trace of yellow discoloration or adhering cleaning chemicals. They are extremely waterproof.
  • They do not form grooves or ridges over time. It is possible that in a plastic container exposed to a lot of heat it has these factors.
