  • To be able to deactivate it, simply press on the WhatsApp chat.
  • Then above, at the top, a new menu will appear.
  • Press the three dots in the corner and you should see the word “Mark as read”.

  • Remember that if you press the “Mark as unread” again, that does not mean that the two blue checks of your friend’s conversation also disappear.
