‘Fast & Furious 10’ dethrones ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’, but the saga hits rock bottom with its worst US opening since Vin Diesel’s return full-time
‘Fast & Furious 10’ has made the forecasts good and has dethroned ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ at the top of the United States box office with an estimated income of $67.5 million. Somewhat disappointing data if we take into account that the film’s budget skyrocketed to the point of reaching 340 million dollars.
His commercial success is still up in the air
In fact, those 67.5 million represent eThe worst debut of a franchise movie since the third installment -where Diesel barely made a cameo that in the end was the most important role of his entire career-, to which must be added a clear downward trend, since the ceiling was reached with the 147.18 million that ‘Fast & Furious 7’ and since then it has been going down until it reached 67 million for the tenth installment.
In its favor it has that it is working better internationally than ‘Fast & Furious 9’, well it is estimated that this first weekend has amassed 318.8 million dollars worldwide and that its final box office will end up surpassing the 726 million that its predecessor did. Of course, it is also expected that it will be far from the 1,515 million of ‘Fast & Furious 7’ and the 1,236 million of ‘Fast & Furious 8’, two of the highest grossing films in the history of cinema.
To this we must add that ‘Fast & Furious 10’ It is the most expensive movie in the entire saga -that honor belonged until now to the eighth installment with a budget of 250 million, 90 less than the one that concerns us now-, so it will have a difficult time being profitable after passing through theaters. And it is that we do not forget that to those 340 million we must easily add 100 more in terms of marketing. Come on, in the end it has ended up costing almost the same as ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’, but no way is it going to reach the 2,319 million that the film has already entered James Cameron.
