‘Citadel’ expands and presents the trailer for its first spin-off: Amazon Prime Video’s very expensive spy and science fiction franchise travels to Italy in 2024

What a surprise we got with the end of the first season of ‘Citadel’ not so much because of what happens (we’ll criticize you shortly) but because after finishing we were treated to the first teaser trailer for ‘Citadel: Diana’the first spin-off of Prime Video’s overpriced spy franchise.

Starring Matilda De Angelis (‘The Undoing’), this is the Italian spin-off of the Russo brothers saga, which will land on the platform in sometime in 2024.

International expansion begins

It will not be the only thing that awaits the franchise since we will have both a season 2 of the series starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden like other spin-offs throughout the world (India, Mexico, etc.).

The pity is that this teaser barely reveals anything to us about what this Italian installment is going to be about. Let’s remember that ‘Citadel’ revolves around a global independent mega spy agency years after it plummeted, with its agents murdered and everything dismantled. So beyond seeing what happens in the Italian offices which, by the way, is where the main series starts, we know little else.

Along with De Angelis, the cast of ‘Citadel: Diana’ includes Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Thekla Reuten, Julia Piaton, Filippo Nigro, and Bernhard Schütz.. to the script is found Alessandro Fabbri (‘1992’), while gina gardini (‘ZeroZeroZero’) will be the showrunner. Arnaldo Catinari (‘Suburra’) is the director.
