Here are nine lists of the best strikers in the 2021-2022 Premier League . Liverpool star Mohamed Salah vs. Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is so far top of the list to chase the golden boot in Liga Inggris 2021-2022.
Mohamed Salah ‘s third golden boot in five Premier League seasons. But Harry Kane , Diogo Jota and Heung-min Son are all chasing the Egyptian.
The Liverpool forward broke the record earlier this season by scoring in seven consecutive games.
His exploits have even left Reds team-mate Diogo Jota trailing behind him, but the Portugal star has forced his way into regular fights up front with Luis Diaz now entering the fray.
Tottenham ‘s Harry Kane was denied a summer move to Manchester City. He has yet to reach the top this season but continues to record impressive numbers, even though his co-star Son Heung-min is currently trailing him.
Watford’s Emmanuel Denis has proven himself in trouble and will need to continue his impressive form if the Hornets are to stay.
As the game progressed, the wing forwards became more and more prolific, with Salah a great exponent.
West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and City’s Riyad Mahrez are two players who have also developed from wide areas.
Reported from Mirror Football, Saturday (26/3/2022), here are the 10 best strikers this season in the 2021-2022 Premier League to date.
1. Mo Salah
A third Golden Boot in five seasons is in sight of the Egyptian. His impressive goalscoring exploits have come amid an uncertain future, with Salah’s contract set to enter the final 12 months of this summer.
Salah enjoyed a sensational start, scoring 10 goals in the first nine games including a hat-trick at Old Trafford. The Liverpool star has 30 goal involvements, 20 goals and 10 assists to date, by far the most in the league.
2. Harry Kane
The Englishman didn’t get the move he wanted in the summer and at first appeared to be suffering from some sort of hangover at the start of the season.
Kane enjoyed arguably the best season of his career last year as he developed his game by dropping deep and influencing play.
This season, Kane has only scored 12 goals for Tottenham Hotspurs. He has had to operate in an inconsistent Tottenham side but still improve and highlight his qualities.
3. Diogo Jota
The unassuming Portuguese star has continued to establish himself as Liverpool’s No 9 – a position that once defined time belongs to Roberto Firmino indefinitely.
Jota is only second in Liverpool Salah’s scoring charts, with his Premier League goals tally standing at 13.
Since joining from Wolves last summer, Klopp claims the 25-year-old “has turned into a world-class striker “.
4. Riyad Mahrez
The Algerian’s minutes-per-goal tally is second to none this season as the winger leads City in the final third, scoring 10 times.
Mahrez has taken on punishment duties for these champions, an area where they have struggled before. Mahrez’s effort was made all the more impressive given that he is not guaranteed a starter like the quality and policy imposed by Pep Guardiola.
The Watford man has 14 goal involvements this season, including nine goals, meaning he has a say in nearly half of his side’s 29 goals this season.
The Hornets, as usual, underwent a few managerial changes but Dennis remained a constant player. He has scored in five of his team’s six wins as they aim to avoid relegation.
5. Jarrod Bowen
West Ham have often relied on Michail Antonio to score goals, as was their desire to add a striker in January. That made Bowen’s contribution all the more important as the winger became more and more prolific.
The Hammers number 20 has scored eight goals but has also provided a further eight assists which has attracted interest from Liverpool.
6. Son Heung-min
He’s been a Kane supporter for a long time, but this time the South Korean took the lead. Son has scored 13 times for Tottenham, with his shooting accuracy the most of any player to score in double figures on the scoresheet.
Son stepped up early this season as Kane’s future saw him eliminated from the first-team squad, including a win against City on the opening weekend.
7. Cristiano Ronaldo
He has faced his fair share of criticism this season and is by no means a long-term solution at Old Trafford but a goalless Manchester United without Ronaldo would be a worrying sight.
Even with his 12 goals, they are still in danger of missing out on the top four, but game-winning performances against the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal have underlined his importance.
8. Armando Broja
One of the findings of this season, Southampton have benefited massively from the addition of a Chelsea credit player.
Broja has scored six goals but it was his holding back and his impact in the final third that really caught the eye. Thomas Tuchel has praised the Albanian, who will return to Stamford Bridge in a few months.
The Brazilian, who has become a regular with his national team, was vital in Leeds’ defense.
The recent win for the Whites has given them room to breathe. Raphinha has scored nine goals, including the winner against Crystal Palace.
