Let’s see the full review in the next article.

House of the Dragon Episode 9 Review
Summary of episode 9 House of the Dragon

Behind the insistence of Otto and Aliscent who want to make Aegon take the throne. In fact, this green family is not very pressured to help each other. In fact, Aegon never wanted to become king. He didn’t want to live sitting on the throne all the time. He even expressed his opinion to leave Kings Landing.

On the other hand, Aliscent tries to convince Raines to form an alliance with her family. According to Aliscent, Raines has no advantage in forming a coalition with Rainera. The Targaryen Rhaenys also stand firm with his opinions. For him family honor is above all else.

Betrayal is established, and Aegon officially takes the throne

As we know the end of Episode 8 leaves House Targaryen very sad. King Viserys who ruled for decades has finally died. Unfortunately, Viserys’ last words were misinterpreted by his wife Alicent who believed that Viserys had given advice so that his son Aegon would be his successor as king.

Egon, who already knew his father was dead, intends to leave King’s Landing. In his heart he did not want to be a king. Egon does not like to drive and wants to live freely. Egon’s disappearance worries Aliscent and Otto, and they send Kriston Cole and Sir Eric to find Egon.

On the other hand, Aliscent tries to convince Raines to form an alliance with her family. According to Aliscent, Raines has no advantage in forming a coalition with Rainera. The Targaryen Rhaenys also stand firm with his opinions. For him family honor is above all else.

It starts beautifully and ends beautifully

The first minutes of this ninth episode are very beautifully crafted. It depicts silence on a dark morning. Exactly where King Viserys just died. The image presented by director Claire Kellner is very captivating. Even when Aliscent found out and told Otto of Viserys’ death, the picture shown was too dark.

Different start, different end. Minutes before the end of this episode. The audience will witness a very amazing and even unexpected spectacle. From the first to the ninth episode. Only in this episode does the character Rhaenys have powerful negotiating power to preserve his family’s dignity.

He bravely wore armor and appeared to be a real Targaryen. If only he wanted, episode nine could be the last episode of the series and there would be no more seasons to come. This scene is the best closing scene for nine episodes of House of the Dragon. Rhaenys also proves Haelena’s prophecy about “monsters under the table”.

Green family cohesion

If Aegon refuses to be king. Unlike with Aemond. In fact, Aegon’s younger brother has ambitions to ascend the throne. He felt more deserving of judgment than Egon. His wits, fighting skill, even decent temperament are enough to make Aemond superior to Aegon. Unfortunately he is not the eldest son to inherit the throne.

It’s different with Otto and Alicent who often have conflicting opinions. Although both are passionate about power. But Aliscent is trying to be wise in driving. He was reluctant to do anything for Rinera, who actually had a mandate to become queen after Viserys’ death.

Unlike Aliscent, Otto is more authoritarian. Aegon’s leadership will never subside if Rhaenyra and her comrades are still alive. The only way to create peace is to eliminate the enemy. This lack of cohesion will be a dangerous hole in this green family alliance.

No “damn” but still promising

When it comes to Game of Thrones, episode nine is always a promising episode, or the term great is the last episode. There are always intrigues and he definitely brings up important facts about the story. For example, important figures such as the late Ned Stark are killed.

In the ninth episode of House of the Dragon, the VIPs are not cursed. Fortunately, the characters omitted were less important in the story. Just that his death was so epic!

Even without a curse on the main character, this episode is still promising. In fact, this is the only episode that doesn’t feature Rhaenyra from start to finish. This episode is entirely given to the power-hungry in the Green family.

This episode still delivers an unforgettable beat for the audience. As discussed in the previous paragraph. The end of Episode IX made it pretty badass.
