The following is a synopsis of the 10 films nominated for the Best Picture Oscar 2023.
1. All Quiet on the Western Front
All Quiet on the Western Front is a film set in Germany during World War I in 1917. This film was directed by Edward Berger and produced by Malte Grunert. All Quiet on the Western Front tells the story of the struggles and suffering of a young soldier from Germany, Paul Baumer (Felix Kammerer) in defending his country by being on the Western Front during World War I.
2. Avatar: The Way of Water
Avatar: The Way of Water is a sequel to the 2009 film Avatar directed by James Cameron. The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle ROdriquez and Sigourney Weaver. Avatar: The Way of Water follows the story of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) who has a family and is living his new life on the planet Pandora.
3. The Banshees of Inisherin

5. Everything Everywhere All at Once
Everything Everywhere All at Once is a science-fiction genre film wrapped in comedy elements, directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. This film tells the story of Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh) whose life is always beset by a barrage of problems. One day, he finds himself in a different version from another multiverse and faces his destiny as the sole savior of the universe.
