19 honest questions I have after the mid-season finale of ‘The Walking Dead’

It was unbelievable that Aaron, Daryl, and Gabe—without any armor—had managed to defeat a group of trained soldiers wearing protective gear.

Maybe we should believe that our trio are better at outsmarting Commonwealth soldiers since they’ve been through so much together that makes them such a lethal force.

I’m not mad that Aaron, Daryl, and Gabe are still alive because these were our three original characters, but the trio has some serious plot armor.

In Sunday’s episode, during a fight with Maggie, Leah is shot in the head by Daryl, her ex-boyfriend, and killed instantly.

If Leah’s death feels a little anticlimactic, host Angela Kang said they’re considering replaying the scene.

What changed? Advice from the show’s star, Norman Reedus, who has played Daryl since season one.

“This is one of those cases where working with our actor Norman really felt like, ‘You know, I don’t even think I’ll have anything more to say to him. If I go in and just see Maggie come in, it’s dangerous. , I’ll take him out at that time.'”

“In this regard, we also want to respect the actor’s feelings about where he feels his character is at that point in the story,” added Kang.

To his credit, Daryl says that if he sees Leah again, he will kill her. He’s a person who keeps his word.

It looks like Reedus has a lot of creative control over the series as this isn’t the first time Reedus has been involved in a major death scene.

In 2020, Ryan Hurst told Insider that he was “a little sad” about not getting a big fight scene with his real-life friends Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan over his death.

At the time, Kang told Insider that they had had a similar “drag fight” between Daryl and Beta before and they didn’t want it to happen again. But on the October 4, 2020 episode of “Talking Dead,” Hurst said he made a big fight scene and said it was Reedus who suggested Beta’s swift and swift death.

“There should be a knife fight. They’re like, ‘No, we’re just going to stab you in the head.'”

She added: “Norma was like, ‘No, I think I should stab her in the face.’ So, I lost that one.”

Where’s Luke?
Fogler’s character is part of the group Yumiko and Magna, but he hasn’t been seen on the show since the end of season 10.

During a panel in March at a convention called the Fandemic Tour, Fogler told fans he believes Luke teaches music classes at Oceanside where he lives with his girlfriend Jules.

If that’s the case, Luke should theoretically appear in line at the end of the episode when Hornsby lay siege to Oceanside. I guess I’ll just pretend Luke and Jules are at the beach and sneak off to get help before they can be caught. (Perhaps Cyndie’s long-lost character is with them too.)

I can forgive this absence as Fogler is busy working on “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” in which he has a huge role to play as a non-magical baker living his best muggle life.

Fogler didn’t provide details on whether he’ll be returning to “TWD” for its final eight episodes, but fans have seen him on set in photos that I won’t share here. So it looks like the writers are just biding their time and possibly getting creative like they have to a few times when the actors are shooting other projects.

It’s really hard to feel that the stakes are high in the show’s final season when Maggie, Negan, Daryl, or Carol are in any kind of danger as all four of them will appear in two different spinoffs launching next year.

In March, star Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently expressed his surprise at the early announcement of his upcoming series, “Isle of the Dead” on the “Rich Eisen Show,” saying he wasn’t sure why they announced it yet.

Will we get a resolution regarding Magna and Yumiko’s relationship?

Magna and Yumiko’s relationship has recently been rocky. Since arriving at the Commonwealth, we haven’t seen them interact at all (other than at the party where Magna was the waitress serving Yumiko’s drinks).

Is their relationship in danger now that they are different? Hire social class in this community?

left on the cutting room floor.

“In this season, I hope we get some sort of resolution [between Magna and Yumiko] and I really don’t know if we do or not,” Matsuura said at the time. “I hope, personally, that we do, because it will be a beautiful moment for both of us to start the show together and finish it in such a special way.”
